Congratulations to our Senior Basketball team who won their Cup Semi Final match against Calasanctius Oranmore by 74 to 60. Congratulations to coaches Domie Mullins and Janice Dupuy. The team will meet Christ the King in the Cup Final in Dublin later in the month.
Sixth Year LCVP students organised a Pizza Lunch for staff & students recently. The pizzas were enjoyed by all. The event raised €265 and all proceeds were donated to the Cork Simon Community.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students, parents & staff a very Happy Christmas and every good wish for the new year. We would like to thank you all and the wider community for your ongoing support of our school. Students from St. Vincent's receiving their certificates at the recent ceremony in the Council Chamber in City Hall. The students were nominated for their voluntary work as mentors in the Lir Centre and for their fundraising for Autism. They were described as outstanding students who are engaging in the true spirit of inclusivity in education.

Class Eanna and their teachers recently visited Dail Eireann. It is part of their CSPE course where they are learning about the concept of deomcracy. The students met their local TDs and visited both the Dail and the Seanad Chambers. The students hope to invite their local TDs to the school in 2015 for a Q &A Session
The invitation to the Basket Ball Team to visit the Lord Mayor in the Council Chamber was indeed a great honour for our school as the Deputy Lord Mayor congratulated the players and their coaches on what has been a fantastic year for our school. TY Students had three workshops presented by Mr Daren Carew from Youth Connect.
Workshop 1 focused on workers’ rights, unions & conflict resolution. Workshop 2 was on Income Inequality, Income Distribution, Income Gap and the HEAP Chart was discussed. Workshop 3 was on the 1913 Lockout and the life of the workers at that time. It was certainly a very busy day of learning. It was a real community celebration of active citizenship in support of Childline.
