https://www.facebook.com/pages/St-Vincents-class-of-84-school-reunion/405725276240484 Second year students from Class Dearbhla participated in the Junior Robot Competition organised by the Cork Electronics Industry Association in CIT recently. The competition involved building a robot from Lego (Mindstorms) and programming it for different and challenging tasks. We came 6th out of the 19 schools in the competition. It was a huge achievement and a great experience. We hope to do something like this again. ~ Leah O' Mahony Leah O' Mahony, Anneka O' Donoghue and Ciara Buckley putting the finishing touches to the robot prior to the competition. Class Eoghan are currently studying Roman Civiiisation as part of their first year History course with their teacher Mr. J. Corocran. They are pictured marching as part of a Roman Legion led by their Centurion(professional officer) who also happens to be their Class Prefect Sarah Tobin Aoibh Kingston presents a copy of the first year newsletter New Beginnings ~ Life @St. Vincent's to her Year Head Ms. R. Ferriter. The newsletter reflects on the transition from primary school to secondary school. The current first year students in Eanna & Eoghan also give advice to the sixth class students in their former primary schools about life in secondary school. The diverse talents, gifts and abilities of students are recognised in the Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony. Students are nominated by both teaching and non-teaching staff. The ceremony recognises the positive contribution that students make to life at St. Vincent's. Congratulations to all recipients (some of whom are photographed below). Let your light shine!
