The Thomas F. Meagher Foundation invited every school in the country to receive the Irish Flag at its Annual School Flag Presentation Ceremony. The purpose of the ceremony in Waterford was to promote pride in and respect for the Irish Flag and its meaning for peace. President Michael D. Higgins attended the ceremony. Aoibh Kingston collected the Tricolour on behalf of the school.Thomas F. Meagher flew the Irish Tricolour for the first time in Waterford in 1848. The Flag ceremony was very informative and raised awareness of the meaning our flag and encouraged active citizenship throughout Ireland. It was a great honour to represent our school.
