| Second Year Science students joined Fifth Year Biology students on an ecology fieldtrip to Fota Wildlife Park recently. This trip has become a much loved annual event. The students learn about the work of the Fota Education Centre. They gain practical experience in ecological surveying techniques, using both qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as learning about conservation and its importance in our world. During the trip they work with experienced ecologists, botanists, zoologists and conservationists. The work involved a range of team skills. Thanks to all the staff in Fota and SVSS Science Teachers Ms. McGrath, Ms. Behan and Ms. Dodd. |
