All Junior Cycle students recently attended Cyclone Rep Workshops on the issues of Bullying and Alcohol Abuse. The Cyclone Rep Theatre Company seeks to educate young people about issues that affect their lives. Cyclone explored these issues through the medium of drama and engaged the students in discussion and group work following up on the performances which they had seen.
The day was organised as part of the school’s programme on well being and resilience. We hope that days like this will help to build student confidence and self esteem and will equip them with the tools to deal with difficult situations which they may face as teenagers and indeed, into the future. Ms. C. McCarthy Third Year: Year Head SVSS Transition Year students attended the Axa Road Safety Road Show recently. The hard hitting Road Show educates teenagers and young adults about the stark reality of road crashes and their brutal impact on the lives of those involved and their families.
