To celebrate ‘Le mois de la Francophonie’, a month long celebration of the French language and French-speaking cultures (French is spoken by 275 million people in 57 countries over 5 continents, the second most learned language after English) Transition Year French students, after a trip to see the film ‘La Mélodie (Orchestra Class) at the 30th Cork French Film Festival, under the guidance of Ms. C. Boyle prepared and cooked Pancakes in Home Economics Class. They subsequently hosted a French breakfast of ‘les crêpes et les croissants’ for first year students, sponsored by Lidl, raising funds for Mental Health Ireland’s Smiley Pancake Campaign… ‘Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today!!’
