Online Teaching and Learning from Monday 11th January 2021

10/1/2021

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

As a result of the public health decision to close schools and move to remote learning from 11th January the following plan for remote teaching and learning has been put in place.

All students are expected to engage fully with remote teaching. If a student is sick or unavailable then the school must be contacted immediately on 021-4307730.

Monday 11th January - Students are required to log into their Microsoft Office 365 accounts / Teams app and respond to messages from their teachers. The purpose of this day is for students to check in to show that they are ready for school work to resume and also to allow the school an opportunity to support students who are having difficulty logging in. To access the online platform a student simply needs to have access to their smartphone and have the Teams app installed. The vast majority of students have already been using this during the current school year.

Students should also use this day to ensure that they have their books and other materials organised for the week ahead. They should also have identified a suitable place from which to do their schoolwork.

Tuesday 12th  January onwards -  From this day onwards students will engage with their timetabled classes using the Teams app and the Office 365 platform. All students have experience using this app and should have little difficulty logging into their classes.

It is vitally important that all students fully engage with their schoolwork using this platform. Students failing to engage will fall behind and miss out on important work.

If you experience any difficulties logging in, then please contact the school and we will be happy to help out in any way we can.

The challenge that lies ahead is one we can easily overcome if we work together.

Mr. J. Deane - Principal
St. Vincent's Secondary School
