Congratulations to Sarah Constant on her recent Athletics achievements. Sarah is a relative newcomer to Athletics and has achieved much in a very short time. She started race walking in December 2017 and made it to the All Ireland Finals. She recently represented SVSS in the Schools' South Munster Division where she achieved a new personal best. We wish Sarah good luck as she now advances to the Munster Regional Finals and we hope she makes it all the way to the Schools' All Ireland Championships in June.
The Council presented the Board with a copy of the SVSS Constitution of the Student Council. Council members also presented an overview of their work for 2017/2018 year to the Board. They also organised an educational talk given by Ms. C. Barry on Autism for students in the junior school and a film for the senior students. The final event involved 6th year students, along with representative students from each class releasing blue balloons into the air. Many thanks to the Student Council and to their Liaison Officer Ms. M. McCarthy for providing a fun day with a very real educational message as well as fundraising for a very worthy cause in SVSS.
