This module was presented to first year students by their mentor Mr. Gordon Adair who works for Musgraves. The programme was organised by Junior Achievement. The Economics of Staying in School comprises of several activities to help students understand the cost of early school leaving and the benefits of staying in school. The main programme concepts are careers, job market, employment, success, goal setting, budgeting, taxes etc. The students enjoyed the programme. The students really did see the benefits of education and how it impacts positively on their lives. Kaitlyn O' Flynn stated: 'if you stay in school and go on to college you will get a better job with a better wage'. While the key message that Mia Wallace took from the module was: 'be happy in your job, like what you do and make your own success'. Elisha Twomey took away a very important work/home balance from the module when she stated ' work hard but when you go home take care of your family, yourself and your health and wellbeing'
